Shortening of time for development of new products and their introduction on the market have forced production companies to find new ways and technologies for satisfying mentioned claims with minimal expenses. One solution is implementation of Rapid Prototyping technologies and Reverse engineering in different areas of industrial production. Owning to its characteristics, threedimensional printing and Reverse Engineering  process has found numerous applications and one of them is its usage in casting.  In this paper are presented possibilities, potentials and real examples of usage of threedimensional printing process in casting.
